in Shopping / Jewelry (submitted 2010-08-24)

Handmade jewelery is not only likely to be an original piece of craftsmanship, but it can be every bit as professionally crafted as a store bought item. People have been adorning themselves with handcrafted items since the dawn of time, whether in the form of feathers, bits of bone or shells taken from the sea.

Today the savvy shopper can craft one-of-a-kind original handmade decorations with a wide variety of items. Beads have been a traditional favorite since time immemorial and now you can create a beautiful necklace or bracelet with beads made from every conceivable material. Ceramics, wood, metals like silver, gold and copper and even beads of stone or semi-precious gems can be used to create beautiful jewelery.

Early man may well have used woven yarns, plant fibres and sinews to create necklaces, but thanks to advancements in modern technology we have access to top quality products. Chains can be made of finely linked sterling silver, titanium, yellow, white and rose gold or leather thongs and woven yarns of superb quality.

We can purchase kits that contain all the basics that we need to being creating our own jewelery and can then build on from there, thanks to access to speciality stores that specifically cater to crafters. Using fine quality products you can make your own earrings, bracelets, necklaces, ankle chains and rings.

You can create items for special occasions, catering to themes, like Christmas, Easter or Halloween, or other fun themes for birthday parties. What better way to commemorate your birthday than to create a beautiful handcrafted bracelet for each of your friends, or to remember an anniversary.

You can color code your accessories to match your wardrobe, wearing a different shade for every day of the week. You are only limited by your imagination in the designs and styles that you can create as you become more familiar with the tools and accessories available, you can create ever more wondrous pieces for your collection.

Each flower in the garden has a different color and hue that affects you differently. While the white lily touches your soul for its serenity, the red rose with its vibrant energy elicits a feeling of love and passion. The feeling is different because the flower is reflecting a different color and Feng Shui uses this natural magic of colors to transform your life.

A rose is red because it reflects red color and Feng Shui makes use of this reflected energy to create a balance between yin and yang energies that suits your personality or your environment.

You may be aware of two types of energies (yin and yang) that the colors in Feng Shui represent. You can think of yin energy as like a plant growing from the earth. It comes from the soil, raising itself upward and moving toward the sky. As yin energy moves up to the sky it becomes diffused and dissipated. Yin energies have an element of dreaminess about them and the colors like blue, white, green and purple according to Feng Shui are believed to have yin energies.

If your home office is full of creative and dream-inducing objects or colors, Feng Shui may ask you to get rid of them (at least some of them) and introduce in their place more vibrant colors that will help you get in the right spirit to do some work and be enthusiastic.

Every association you have with a color contributes in some way to how you are.
bedroom comforters

The expression, ?One man?s meat is another man?s poison? has never seen more fruition than evidenced in these ?exotic? foods found throughout Latin America. Just feast your eyes on these taste-tempting treats.

Iguana

Starting off our list is a common delicacy from the Pacific Coast and Caribbean. Although protected in many countries, these green lizards, which can grow to more than 3 feet in length, are a prized stable in Aruba, Bonaire, Panama and Colombia. The eggs are also cooked and eaten even though they?re often taken illegally.
estes park

What is important to one Yoga teacher may be of little importance to another. However, each Yoga teacher has the passion for Yoga within him or her.

This is the common denominator within all instructors of Yoga.

Is success measured by your contribution to the common good? If you are helping people through teaching Yoga, then it must be so. Yoga has many aspects, but all of them are for healing and helping people.

If you have a student who is financially unable to pay, would you turn him or her away? Most Yoga teachers would find a way to help a student in need, regardless of the finances involved.

However, there is a big difference between a student who cannot afford to pay you and one who does not want to pay you. The difference is the perceived value of Yoga and his or her present financial circumstances. The poor see a value in Yoga, if they need it, but cannot afford it.

Here is an extremely special case: There was a potential Yoga student who told me he was ?financially strapped? and could not afford to pay for Yoga lessons, but he desperately needed them for his back problems.
burn belly fat

This was to protect the floor against extreme heat and fire damage. They squared it all up and positioned the heater on top of the metal floor protector base. They measured and calculated where to make the hole in the ceiling and roof for the stove pipe, coupling box, and chimney to go through. Then the sawing began. It didn’t take long before there was a hole in the roof, and ceiling through which the base of a metal chimney was poking.

A heat dissipation, coupling box was mounted in the ceiling and connected to the chimney. This device would spread out and radiate the heat from the stove pipe which was mounted to the bottom of the box and the chimney. The heater was tipped back a little and the stove pipe was squeezed into the collar hole, coming out of the center of the heater. Again every thing was squared up and checked for level. Before the workmen left, I used some wood pieces I had stored for that purpose and lit a small fire in the heater to test it out. Through the window in the heater’s door one could see the fire burning merrily along.
sleep comfort adjustable bed

Apart from paying an overpriced hotel room, owning a motor home can be a thrilling experience both for families and individuals. Having the ability to pack your bags and drive your motor home wherever you please adds the feeling of excitement and adventure to the equation. In addition, it is, according to many happy campers, pretty fantastic to have the opportunity of traveling with your family or friends and not having to reserve or stress over tickets or hotel availability. Owning a recreational vehicle, the other name for motor home vehicle, allows people to spend as much time as they please to the destination of their liking, without having to pack their bags before they go off to experience something new.

But why should one consider investing in a recreational vehicle, instead of getting in his or her car and drive away? Well, simple things, like the fact that motor home vehicles have less glass than cars, so they do not heat up as fast when parked under the sun, may give another perspective to motor home argument.
self catering whitstable

Once a fellow Aikidoist has read the history of our Aikido then perhaps you will realise why the few of us that are left from the early days are so protective of its origins.

Prior to this claim of 47 years, Mr. Poole has always chosen to totally ignore me and my existence when attending the British Aikido Board meetings. Maybe he feels that if he ignores me he then can ignore his true history.

During the time Mr. Poole was in my beginner?s class, he was always a good student, and I can never recall any problems or concerns.
marc jacobs bags

 By Jane Bloodworth Rowe

 Correspondent

 Princess Anne

What does it take to make your childhood dream come true?

For the members of local rock band Seven Ten Oil, it took hard work, perseverance, original material and a good understanding of how to use the Internet.

After years of hard work and Internet marketing, Seven Ten Oil opened for the iconic rock band KISS before a packed crowd at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater on Aug. 27.

Serving as the opening act for KISS was the realization of a longtime dream for singer and rhythm guitar player and Virginia Beach resident Chris Johnson.

“To open for KISS is something you dream about as a child,” Johnson said. “We feel this is a huge opportunity. It will open many, many doors for us.”

The opportunity sprang from an online contest that allowed fans from around the world to vote for Seven Ten Oil as the opening act, but the band’s story actually dates to Johnson’s childhood in Salem Village.

Johnson learned to play the guitar and was interested in performing before an audience. He met Vinnie Mastropasqua , who also lived in Salem Village, and the two teamed up with other local musicians to form Seven Ten Oil in 1997.

The current band members, which also include Portsmouth resident Les Moseley and Norfolk resident Ian Switz, have been playing together for two years. They have worked local venues, including the Sandler Center, as well as places in Raleigh and Washington, D.C.

Seven Ten Oil also released an album, “No Name,” which is marketed through iTunes and other online sites, as well as at their performances.

Through the Internet, the band members also attracted an internal fan base. When they heard about an online contest to choose an opening act for KISS, they jumped at the opportunity.

Fans voted online for their favorite band from the 250 Virginia bands that entered the competition, and KISS selected the winner from the top five, Switz said.

“The Internet makes it possible to attract fans from other parts of the world without being on a record label,” said Johnson. “It has helped small bands like us.”

Band members describe their music as modern, but with a 1980s influence.

“We have some elements of 1980s showmanship,” said Switz, “but we do a lot of modern stuff, too.”

The band members write their own material, which they say has been influenced by Indie rock, and they aim to make sure that everyone has a good time at their concerts. They use special effects lighting, fog and audience interaction “to make sure the crowd is having as much fun as we are,” Switz said.

Seven Ten Oil will perform at The NorVa at 317 Monticello Ave
internet marketing
